Naomi demonstrates how to get back into an overturned single shell at the Florida Rowing Center. (To get a larger picture just click on the picture you wish to enlarge):

First Naomi rights the overturned shell. She is careful not to get hit by the rigging or
oars as she flips it over.
She neatly tucks the oar handle on her side, into the rigging on the other side, to
position it for easy reach when she swims to the other side.
Naomi maintains one hand on both oar handles, the other on a firm part of the shell,
and pulls herself over the shell seating area.
She swings carefully into the cockpit,
then with one hand on the seat to steady
it, Naomi pulls herself on the seat and
prepares to row away.
